It was established in 2001. The founder and director of the observatory is Yuri Ivashchenko. The observatory has IAU observatory code A50. On September 18, 2003 the observatory discovered a main-belt asteroid, which was later named after the town, 133293 Andrushivka.

Tereschenko Palace
Tereschenko Palace is a palace, now a school, in Andrushivka, Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukraine. It was built in 1871 by Artemiy Tereshchenko, a sugar baron from the wealthy Tereshchenko family of entrepreneurs who ran the Andrushivka Sugar Factory. It is a brick palace set in a park, built in the style of French Neo-renaissance. On 25 January 1919 a meeting was held here by the Volyn Revolutionary Committee, and in June 1920 in these walls housed the headquarters of the First Mounted Army.
