Croxden Abbey

Croxden Abbey was a Cistercian abbey at Croxden, Staffordshire, England. In 1179, Bertram de Verdun, the lord of the manor of Croxden, endowed a site for a new abbey, and 12 monks arrived from the Savigniac Cistercian mother house of Aunay-sur-Odon in Normandy to build the new abbey over the next 50 years. It was known as the "Abbey of the Vale of St. Mary at Croxden". The monks made a living from breeding sheep. The Abbey was consecrated in 1253.

Corkscrew (Alton Towers)

Corkscrew was a steel roller coaster manufactured by Vekoma of the Netherlands. The coaster was located in the Ug Land area of Alton Towers in Staffordshire, England. It was the park's oldest ride and is considered the greatest factor in promoting the new theme park to the British public. It was one of the first double-inverting coasters in Europe (the first in the UK) - so received much publicity and avid popularity in the 1980s.

Rita (roller coaster)

Rita is an Intamin accelerator coaster located in the Dark Forest area of Alton Towers in Staffordshire, England. It accelerates to 61.1 mph in 2.5 seconds. The ride is loosely based on drag racing. It is similar to Stealth at Thorpe Park which opened in 2006, though this partly changed with the retheming of Ug Land into the Dark Forest for 2010. It now stands as an abandoned drag racer that is used as the escape cart to escape the Dark Forest.

Alton Towers Waterpark, also known as Cariba Creek and Splash Landings, is an indoor/outdoor waterpark themed as a tropical lagoon. It is located in the Alton Towers resort, next to the Splash Landings hotel in Staffordshire, England. It is situated inside the actual hotel.

Air (roller coaster)

Air or Aerial Inversion Ride is a steel flying roller coaster located in the Forbidden Valley area of Alton Towers in Staffordshire, England. The ride was the first flying roller coaster designed by the Swiss manufacturers Bolliger & Mabillard. Guests ride in a prone position and experience the feeling of flight by 'flying' close to the ground, under footpaths and gliding narrowly past objects such as trees and rocks. It is the tallest roller-coaster in Alton Towers.
