Compton Verney

Compton Verney is a manor and parish in the county of Warwickshire, England. Compton Verney House is an 18th century country mansion which has been converted into an art gallery. The village of Compton Murdac came to be renamed around 1500 as Compton Verney under the influence of the Verney family who first built a manor house there in 1442. The Manor House was extended by succeeding generations as the family's fortune improved.

Compton Verney House

Compton Verney House is an 18th century country mansion at Compton Verney near Kineton in Warwickshire, England, which has been converted into the Compton Verney Art Gallery. The building is a Grade I listed house built in 1714 by Richard Verney, 11th Baron Willoughby de Broke. It was first extensively extended by George Verney, the 12th baron in the early 18th century and then remodelled and the interiors redesigned by Robert Adam for John Verney, the 14th baron, in the 1760s.

Wellesbourne Watermill

Wellesbourne Watermill is a fine historic flour mill near Wellesbourne, Warwickshire, England, rebuilt in 1834 on a domesday site. It ran commercially until 1958 latterly by a belt drive from a tractor, the wheel last being used in the 1910s. The mill office door carries a date 1785 which formerly belonged to a post mill which stood in the adjacent field. The mill house is considerably older than the present mill building.

The Heritage Motor Centre is a British motor museum and research centre, located adjacent to the Jaguar Land Rover Gaydon Centre near Gaydon in Warwickshire, England. Battle of Edgehill

The Battle of Edgehill (or Edge Hill) was the first pitched battle of the First English Civil War. It was fought near Edge Hill and Kineton in southern Warwickshire on Sunday, 23 October 1642. All attempts at constitutional compromise between King Charles and Parliament broke down early in 1642. Both King and Parliament raised large armies to gain their way by force of arms.
