Shiremoor Metro station

Shiremoor Metro station is on the Yellow Line of the Tyne and Wear Metro, serving the village of Shiremoor, in North Tyneside, England. The station opened in 1980, as part of the first stage of the Metro system. It was a brand-new station, and replaced Backworth. In the 2008-9 period the station was used by around 375,000 passengers.

West Monkseaton Metro station

West Monkseaton Metro station is a station on the Tyne and Wear Metro in Monkseaton, North Tyneside, England, which was originally opened by the LNER in 1933. It reopened as part of the first section of the Metro in 1980. The first section of the North Tyne Loop to close for Metro conversion was Manors - West Monkseaton, and therefore West Monkseaton was a terminus for trains from Newcastle via the Coast from 23 January 1978 until 10 September 1979.

Northumberland Park Metro station

Northumberland Park Metro station is a station on the Tyne and Wear Metro Yellow Line. It serves a new housing development known as Northumberland Park. It is situated between Palmersville and Shiremoor, close to where the single-track freight-only Network Rail line diverges northwards towards Ashington. The station has proved popular with over 320,000 passengers using the station in the 2008-9 period.

Whitley Bay Football Club (also known as The Bay, or The Seahorses) are an English football club based in the North-East of England. The present Whitley Bay Football Club was formed in 1950 and was known as Whitley Bay Athletic. Whitley Bay play their home matches at Hillheads Park, which is adjacent to the Whitley Bay Ice Rink in Whitley Bay and has a maximum capacity of 4,500.

Stephenson Railway Museum

The Stephenson Railway Museum is managed by Tyne and Wear Museums on behalf on North Tyneside Council, and is located at Middle Engine Lane in North Shields, England. The museum opened in 1986 to commemorate local railway pioneers George and Robert Stephenson, and to provide a permanent home for the museum's rail transport collections. It is on the site of the former Tyne and Wear Metro test track, which was originally the line to the staithes on the Backworth Colliery system.
