Quebec, County Durham

Quebec is a small village in County Durham, in North East England. Once a coal mining village, it is situated 6 miles west of the city of Durham, and close to the villages of Esh, Cornsay Colliery, Esh Winning and Langley Park. The village has a public house, the Hamsteels Inn, a hotel, Hamsteels Hall, a church, St. John the Baptist Hamsteels, a village hall, a playground and a used car dealership.

Ushaw College

Ushaw College, a former Catholic seminary and Licensed Hall of Residence of the University of Durham, covers 400 acres in the village of Ushaw Moor in the UK. It was founded in 1808 by scholars from English College, Douai, who had fled France after that college had been closed during the French Revolution. Ushaw College had been affiliated with the University of Durham since 1968.

Real Radio North East

Real Radio North East is a radio station in north east England owned by Global Radio. It is based in Team Valley, Gateshead, and broadcasts to North East England. The station was launched in 1994 as Century Radio, the first station in Border Radio Holding's Century Network. The station was taken over by Capital Radio Group, and then by GCap Media in 2005.

Cornsay

Cornsay is a hamlet and civil parish in County Durham, England. It is 6 miles southeast of Consett and 7 miles southwest of Durham. It consists of nineteen dwellings, including four farms. All formerly belonged to Ushaw College for the training of Catholic priests, hence the organised nomenclature. East and West Farms are now in private hands as homes but the other two are still active, South Farm run by the Suddes family and North Farm by the Tweddle family.
