The Goit

The Goit (sometimes written The Goyt) is a canal used for transporting drinking water along the Rivington chain in Lancashire, England. The section in Brinscall is currently covered, and a local campaign is ongoing to attempt to uncover the water. The Goit is now uncovered from Brinscall down to Aglezarke, passing through White Coppice, a path follows its course the whole way on either side and makes a delightful walk.

Chorley and South Ribble District General Hospital

Chorley and South Ribble District General Hospital is the main NHS hospital for the Lancashire boroughs of Chorley and South Ribble. The hospital comes under the authority of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust along with the Royal Preston Hospital. There were once another two NHS hospitals in the town, Eaves Lane and Heath Charnock, which both closed in the 1990s. Euxton Hall Hospital is a private facility still in operation in the village of Euxton.

St. Michael's CE High School

St. Michael's is an Anglican high school located in the town of Chorley, Lancashire, England. The school is home to 1,200 pupils and is a performing Arts College. The Headteacher has been Mrs. Julie Heaton since January of 2012. The school was established in 1964 as a Secondary Modern School. The first Headteacher was Roy Moore. Educated at Lincoln College, Oxford he was in outlook a Christian socialist and a great believer in equality.

Grain Pole Hill

Grain Pole Hill is a location on Anglezarke Moor, within the West Pennine Moors of Lancashire, England. Despite a modest height of 285 metres (935 ft), the summit provides excellent views towards the Irish Sea. Of more note, however, is its location between Round Loaf and Pikestones, both of which are Neolithic remnants. Hurst Hill is less than half a mile away. It is uncertain as to when the hill gained its name.
