Kirklees, West Yorkshire

Kirklees was the site of a Cistercian Priory north of Mirfield, in what is now West Yorkshire, and close to the current site of the M62 motorway. The priory no longer exists, although the name was reused in 1974 for the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees. In the 12th century, the Cistercian monks built Kirklees Priory. The former gatehouse can still be seen, though the site is on private land.

Littletown, Liversedge, Kirklees

Littletown is one of the constituent settlements of the district of Liversedge, West Yorkshire, in the north of England. Much of the town centre was demolished in the 1960s for road widening. Although local residents always refer to it as a town, it's size and population are similar to that of a village. Although it is literally a little town the place name is reputedly named after a Mr Little.

Liversedge F.C

Liversedge F.C. are a football club based in Cleckheaton, England, on the border with Hightown in Liversedge and members of the Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division for the 2012–13 season. Liversedge play their home games at Clayborn, which features a clubhouse to the top West corner of the ground, covered seating at the North, and small covered terracing stand to the West behind the goal. Prior to the 2004–05 season the ground had a large slope from the North to the South.

Spenborough

Spenborough was, from 1915 to 1974, a local government district in the administrative county of Yorkshire, West Riding. Spenborough was created as an urban district in 1915 by the merger of Cleckheaton, Gomersal and Liversedge urban districts. The amalgamation was carried out on the instigation of Cleckheaton Urban District Council, in order to resist plans by the County Borough of Bradford to annex the area. The name "Spenborough", after the River Spen, was also suggested by Cleckheaton UDC.
