Folkestone West railway station

Folkestone West railway station is one of two open railway stations in Folkestone in Kent, England. The station is operated by Southeastern. The ticket office, in a room on the extensive 'up' side buildings on the London-bound platform, is manned only during part of the day; at other times a PERTIS 'permit to travel' machine, located outside the ticket office, suffices. The substantial 'down side' platform building is occupied as offices by Network Rail.

Sandgate Primary School

Sandgate Primary School is located between the Folkestone School for Girls and Eversley College in Sandgate, Kent. The old school building is located in the village on Sandgate Road and as of March 2011 is up for sale. The modern building lies on Coolinge Lane and has extensive recreational grounds. Sandgate Castle

Sandgate Castle is a coastal castle at Sandgate near Folkestone in Kent. It was originally built as an artillery castle in 1539-1540 by Henry VIII of England as part of his chain of coastal defences in response to the threat of invasion. As these forts were devised by Henry VIII, they are known as Device Forts. It was built to defend a vulnerable stretch of coastline and due to its proximity to the French coast the site has been constantly defended and refortified.

South Kent College

South Kent College (SKC) was a college of further and higher education in southeast England. The main campus was in Folkestone, with satellites in Dover and at several sites in Ashford. Following a KPMG report in 2006 that recommended a merger, in April 2010 Icey Dan joined West Kent College to form South & West Kent College which trades as K College.
