Lydden Hill Race Circuit

Lydden Hill Race Circuit (formerly known as Lydden Circuit) is the UK's shortest road racing circuit (many shorter oval tracks exist) at exactly one mile (= 1.609 km), based at Wootton about half-way between Canterbury and Dover in Kent. The track is mainly used for rallycross, drift, saloon and sports car racing as well as motorcycle racing. It may be only a mile long, but Lydden is a testing circuit, with many undulation changes.

Kent Battle of Britain Museum

The Kent Battle of Britain Museum is located on the former RAF Hawkinge, a World War II airfield 4 miles inland from Folkestone, England. It is privately operated and is the oldest museum dedicated to the Battle of Britain. Since opening in 1971, the museum has gained the support of a number of Battle of Britain pilots - many of whom have donated personal items to the museum.

Cheriton Hill

Cheriton Hill is a hill near Folkestone in the south-east corner of the English county of Kent, overlooking the English Channel. The relatively low-lying hill (reaching only 188 metres above sea level) is covered with farmland, villages, narrow lanes, and footpaths.

2007 Kent earthquake

The 2007 Kent earthquake was an earthquake that registered 4.3 on the Richter scale and struck south east Kent, England on 28 April 2007 at 07:18:12 UTC, at a shallow depth of 5.3 km. The worst affected area was the town of Folkestone, although the towns of Deal, Dover and Ashford were also affected. The tremors could be felt across much of Kent and south east England including as far as East Sussex, Essex and Suffolk as well as on the other side of the English Channel at Calais and Brussels.
