Meaford, Staffordshire

Meaford is a landmark hamlet in the English county of Staffordshire. It lies at the junction of the A34 and A51 roads, north of the town of Stone. It is on the River Trent, while Meaford Lock is on the Trent and Mersey Canal. Meaford's most famous son is John Jervis, 1st Earl of St Vincent, the naval hero (see below).

Yarnfield

Yarnfield is a village in Staffordshire, England. It is considered part of historic Stone, and is near to other historic locations such as Eccleshall and Swynnerton. It is the site of a very large training and conference centre managed by BT. The site originally named Beatty Hall was one of a number of accommodation camps in the area serving the very large Second World War Cold Meece munitions factory.

A519 road

The A519 is a road in the United Kingdom that runs between Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire and Newport, Shropshire. At Newport it meets the A518 and A41. It heads broadly north, passing via Eccleshall, junction 15 of the M6 motorway, and then meets the A53 and various other roads in Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre. The road follows the first part of the route of the medieval road from Shrewsbury to York, which passed through the ancient Forest of Lyme.
