Swinton Park

Swinton Park, the seat of the Danby family and (from 1882) of the Cunliffe-Lister family is an English country house in Swinton near Masham, North Yorkshire, England. It is set in 200 acres of parkland, lakes and gardens. Currently operating as a 30-bedroom hotel, it is surrounded by the family estate in which guests have access to rivers, reservoirs, moorland, dales, and beautiful countryside bordering the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Grewelthorpe

Grewelthorpe is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England situated three miles south of Masham and six miles north of Ripon. It is located in the Nidderdale area of outstanding natural beauty. The name Grewelthorpe derives from the words Gruel and Thorpe, Gruel being a family name and thorpe meaning "outlying farmstead". Grewelthorpe was mentioned in the Domesday Book when it was known as Torp and was in the ownership of Gospatric.

Leighton Reservoir

Leighton Reservoir is a reservoir which drains via the River Burn to the River Ure in North Yorkshire, England. It neighbours Roundhill Reservoir and is about 4 miles west of Masham. It takes its name from the nearby village of Leighton. Water from the reservoir is used to compensate for abstraction from the River Ure. Although not in Nidderdale, the reservoir is within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
