Markenfield Hall

Markenfield Hall is an early 14th century moated country house three miles (5 km) south of Ripon, North Yorkshire. It is one of the finest surviving English country houses from that time. The house is an L-shaped castellated block, with a great hall that stands upon an undercroft and was originally reached by an exterior stone staircase. It is lit by two double-light windows with quatrefoil transom under their arched heads.

Killinghall

Killinghall is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is located three miles north of Harrogate, extending south from the bridges on the A61 over the River Nidd. The undeveloped area between Killinghall and Harrogate is known as Killinghall Moor. The village of Ripley lies a mile to the north and Hampsthwaite two miles to the west. Killinghall is located on the A61 making it convenient for travel to Harrogate or Ripon.

St George's House, Harrogate

St George's House, originally called the Northern Police Orphanage was located on Otley Road, Harrogate, Yorkshire, England. The Orphanage was founded in 1898 by Miss Catherine Gurney for the care and welfare of Northern Police Force children who had lost one or both parents. The children were housed in a building located on 12 acres of land on Otley Road, Harrogate.

Studley Roger

Studley Roger is a small village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is about 1 mile west of Ripon. Neighbouring Studley Royal Park contains the remains of Fountains Abbey and is a World Heritage Site. Ordnance survey maps show there to be disused quarries, and looking at photos of the area you also discover photos of these quarries. The population of Studely Roger was 175 according to the 2011 census.
