East Lulworth

East Lulworth is a hamlet nine miles east of Dorchester, near Lulworth Cove, in the Purbeck district of Dorset, South West England. It consists of 17th century thatched cottages. The village is now dominated by the barracks of the Royal Armoured Corps Gunnery School who use a portion of the Purbeck Hills as a gunnery range.

Clavell Tower

Clavell Tower, also known as Clavell Folly or the Kimmeridge Tower, is a Grade II listed Tuscan style tower built in 1830. It lies on the Jurassic Coast, on the top of Hen Cliff just east of Kimmeridge Bay in the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, England.

Hen Cliff

Hen Cliff is part of the Jurassic Coast near Kimmeridge in the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, England. It runs from the eastern end of Kimmeridge Bay (below the folly called Clavell Tower) east to an area called Cuddle. The cliffs consist (as at Kimmeridge) of ledges of dolomite interspersed with thicker units of shale. Rockfalls are common and dangerous here.

Lulworth Castle

Lulworth Castle, in East Lulworth, Dorset, situated south of Wool, is an early 17th century mock castle. The stone building has now been re-built as a museum. In 1610 Lulworth Castle was built as a hunting lodge by Thomas Howard, 3rd Viscount Howard of Bindon, a grandson of the 3rd Duke of Norfolk. In 1641, Humphrey Weld purchased it from Howard's heir, James Howard, 3rd Earl of Suffolk. A Roman Catholic Chapel was built in the grounds in 1786.
