Nether Poppleton Tithebarn

Nether Poppleton Tithebarn is a tithe barn at Manor Farm in the village of Nether Poppleton in the unitary authority of City of York in the North of England. Research by dendrochronologists has shown that the tithe barn, which was built on the site of an old nunnery, is at least 450 years old.

Nether Poppleton

Nether Poppleton is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of the City of York in North Yorkshire, England. It is situated by the West bank of the River Ouse adjacent to Upper Poppleton, and west of York close to the A59 road from York to Harrogate. The village is served by Poppleton railway station on the Harrogate Line. According to the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 2,077. Before 1996, it had been part of the Harrogate district.

National Railway Museum

The National Railway Museum (NRM) is a museum in York forming part of the British National Museum of Science and Industry and telling the story of rail transport in Britain and its impact on society. It has won many awards, including the European Museum of the Year Award in 2001. It is the home of the national collection of historically significant railway vehicles, as well as a collection of other artefacts and both written and pictorial records.

Yorkshire Wheel

Yorkshire Wheel is the name used by two transportable Ferris wheel installations at different locations in York, England. The first installation was at the National Railway Museum, and operated from 12 April 2006 until 2 November 2008. The second installation, in the grounds of The Royal York Hotel, opened to the public on 13 December 2011.

Bootham Crescent

Bootham Crescent is an association football stadium in York, North Yorkshire. It has been the home of York City since 1932, when it was purchased from York Cricket Club as a replacement for Fulfordgate, which was relatively inaccessible for supporters to reach. As well as hosting York City games, it has held a match between the Football League XI and Northern Command and a number of England youth internationals.
