St Olaf's Church in Wasdale Head, Cumbria, is one of England's smallest churches. The earliest record of the church is from 1550, though it probably predates this, as the beams are said to come from a Viking longship.

Wasdale Head
Wasdale Head is a small agricultural village in the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England. The village claims to be home of the highest mountain (Scafell Pike), deepest lake, smallest church and biggest liar in England. The last of these claims refers to Will Ritson, who proclaimed himself as such. It is located at the "head" of the valley of Wasdale, and is surrounded by some of England's highest mountains: Scafell Pike, Sca Fell, Great Gable, Kirk Fell and Pillar.

Mosedale Beck
Mosedale Beck is a stream in Cumbria which runs into Wast Water, which is the deepest lake in England. Mosedale Beck rises in Little Scoat Fell, it then flows south west until it reaches Risson's Force waterfall, it then turns to the south and flows through the village of Wasdale Head. It then flows through Down-in-the-Dale where it is joined by Lingmell Beck before it empties into Wast Water

Mickledore
Mickledore (the name means great door or pass) is a narrow ridge, 840 metres (2755 ft) high, connecting the mountains of Sca Fell and Scafell Pike in the English Lake District. It is also a pass between the valleys of Wasdale and Eskdale. The ridge is easily reached and traversed from Scafell Pike to the north, or from the valleys to the east and west.

Scafell Pike
Scafell Pike or /skɑːˈfɛl/ is the highest mountain in England at 978 metres . It is located in Lake District National Park, in Cumbria. It is sometimes confused with the neighbouring Sca Fell, to which it is connected by the col of Mickledore. The name Pikes of Sca Fell was originally applied collectively to the peaks now known as Scafell Pike, Ill Crag and Broad Crag, which were considered subsidiary tops of Scafell (which looks higher from many angles).
