Oatlands Palace

Oatlands Palace is a former Tudor and Stuart royal palace located between Weybridge and Walton on Thames in Surrey, England. The surrounding modern district of Oatlands takes its name from the palace. Little remains of the original building, so excavations of the palace took place in 1964 to rediscover its extent.

Chertsey and Walton (UK Parliament constituency)

Chertsey and Walton was a parliamentary constituency in Surrey which returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, elected by the first-past-the-post voting system. The constituency was created for the February 1974 general election from parts of the seats of Chertsey and Esher. It was abolished for the 1997 general election.

Weybridge Heath

Weybridge Heath is a part of Weybridge common. The Heath comprises 47 acres (190,200 square metres) of lowland heathland that runs from the deep cutting of the South Western Main Line railway eastwards to Cobbetts Hill. To the west of the railway line, much of the original heathland is now occupied by Heathside School and Brooklands College.

Shepperton Lock

Shepperton Lock is a lock on the River Thames, in England adjoining the northern bank near Shepperton, Surrey. It is across the river from Weybridge, but not directly accessible from there. In 1813, the City of London Corporation built the pound lock on a cut along an existing watercourse to create Lock Island. There are two weirs, one between Lock Island and Hamhaugh Island and the other larger one between Hamhaugh Island and the southern bank.

D'Oyly Carte Island

D'Oyly Carte Island is a small island in the River Thames, England, between Weybridge and Shepperton, on the reach above Sunbury Lock and just below Shepperton Lock. It is located about 17 mile upriver from London. The island was formerly called Folly Eyot.
