St Wenn

St Wenn is a civil parish and village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village is situated six miles (10 km) west of Bodmin and nine miles (14.5 km) east of Newquay. Other settlements in the parish include Rosenannon, Tregonetha, and Tregurtha Barton, once the home of Michael Tregury, Archbishop of Dublin (Roman Catholic) who died in 1471. The last heir-male of the elder branch of this family died in the reign of Henry V.

St Breock Downs Monolith

St Breock Downs Monolith is the largest and heaviest prehistoric standing stone in Cornwall, England. It stands on the summit of St Breock Downs. The stone is made from the local Devonian shale which has extensive feldspar veining, and it is estimated to weigh around 16.5 tonnes. It is 4.92 metres long and stands to a height of just over 3 metres above ground level. It stands on a low stone mound or cairn with a diameter of around 10 metres.

Castle an Dinas, St Columb Major

Castle an Dinas is an Iron Age hillfort near St. Columb Major in Cornwall, UK and is considered one of the most important hillforts in the southwest of Britain. It dates from around the 3rd to 2nd century BCE and consists of three ditch and rampart concentric rings, 850 feet above sea level. During the early 1960s it was excavated by a team led by Dr. Bernard Wailes of the University of Pennsylvania during two seasons of excavation.

Roche, Cornwall

Roche (pronounced Roach, Cornish: Tregarrek, meaning homestead of the rock) is a civil parish and village in mid-Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village gets its name from a granite outcrop east of the village. Roche is the Norman-French word for Rock. On the northern flank of the village is the 20-metre high Roche Rock, a large granite outcrop. Nearby are the towns of Bodmin and St Austell, as well as the Eden Project.

Bodmin Hospital

Bodmin NHS Treatment Centre (which is commonly referred to as Bodmin Hospital) is a relatively small hospital in Bodmin, Cornwall, United Kingdom. Opened in January 2006, the hospital is a purpose-built facility designed to provide facilities and equipment for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of conditions on a day case basis. The hospital does not contain an Accident and Emergency department, but the cottage hospital (East Cornwall Hospital) does contain a minor injuries unit.
