Gildingwells is a village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham in South Yorkshire, England, on the border with Nottinghamshire. It lies between Dinnington and Carlton in Lindrick at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:53|22|N|1|10|W||| | |name= }}, and at an elevation of around 60 metres above sea level. Shireoaks Colliery

Shireoaks Colliery was a coal mine situated on the edge of the village of Shireoaks, near Worksop in North Nottinghamshire, close by the Yorkshire border. The Duke of Newcastle owned mineral rights in much of North Nottinghamshire and the original shaft was sunk in 1861.

It lies between Dinnington and Langold, off the B6463 road. It is located at 53° 22' 40" North, 1° 9' West, at an elevation of around 75 metres above sea level. It has a population of 111. The first reference to Letwell was in the 12th century when it was part of the lands of Tickhill Castle.
