Ballycraigy

Ballycraigy is a mainly loyalist housing estate in Antrim, about 10 miles north of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Ballycraigy has its own band "Ballycraigy Sons of Ulster" with Purple/Lilac attire for their uniform. The ballycraigy estate is made up of the mostly Protestant religion group. Every July 12th many of them celebrate by lighting a bonfire in the centre of the estate. The bonfire for 2006 was the largest in Northern Ireland.

Antrim railway station

Antrim railway station serves Antrim in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The station currently serves trains on the Belfast to Derry line via Bleach Green and Yorkgate station. Until 2003, Belfast-Derry trains reached here by means of the Lisburn-Antrim railway line, however this line was mothballed after re-opening of the Bleach Green line. The possibility of reopening it as a circular route, with a halt at Aldergrove for Belfast International Airport has been discussed.

Six Mile Water

The Six Mile Water is a river in southern County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It was historically called the (river) Ollar and is known in Irish as Abhainn na bhFiodh. The Six Mile Water is an indirect tributary of the River Bann, via Lough Neagh. It rises in the hills west of Larne and north of Carrickfergus and descends gently westward, flowing through or close to the communities of Ballynure, Ballyclare, Doagh, Parkgate, Templepatrick, Dunadry and Antrim into Lough Neagh.

Antrim (borough)

Antrim (named after the town of Antrim) is a local government district in Northern Ireland. It is one of twenty-six districts created in 1973, and was granted borough status on 9 May 1977. The borough covers an area of some 220 square miles and has a population of 53,428 according to the 2011 census. It is situated about 19 miles north-west of Belfast.

Battle of Antrim

The Battle of Antrim was fought on 7 June 1798, in the county Antrim in Ulster, Ireland during the Irish Rebellion of 1798 between British troops and Irish insurgents led by Henry Joy McCracken. The British won the battle, beating off a rebel attack on Antrim town following the arrival of reinforcements but the county governor, Lord O'Neill, was fatally wounded.
