Annsborough

Annsborough is a small village in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is situated on the A25 road between Downpatrick and Newry, approximately 0.8 kilometres to the east of Castlewellan and 17 kilometres to the south west of Downpatrick. It had a population of 593 people in the 2001 Census. It originally developed as a mill village in the valley of the Clarkhill and Ballybannon rivers. Most people look beyond the village to neighbouring Castlewellan for the majority of their local services.

Castlewellan GAC (also known as St Malachy's GAC, or in Irish, CLG Naomh Maolmhoig Caisleán a’ Mhuilinn) is a Gaelic Athletic Association Club in Castlewellan, County Down, Northern Ireland. The club promotes the Gaelic Games of Hurling, Football, Camogie and other cultural and social pursuits.

Ballybannan

Ballybannon is a townland on the outskirts of the village of Annsborough close to the town of Castlewellan, County Down, Northern Ireland. The area contains some of the most majestic views of the Mourne Mountains. The townland covers the road, Ballybannon and some houses on the adjoining Wateresk Road. There is also a recognisable water works house in the townland. The new Mighty Maize Maze which is a fun farm park is also located in the townland.
