Cranagh is a small village in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It is in the Glenelly Valley, about seven miles from Plumbridge. In the 2001 Census it has a population of 66 people. It is within the Strabane District Council area.

Glenelly Valley or simply Glenelly (from the Irish: Gleann Aichle) is the longest valley in the Sperrin Mountains in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It lies within the Sperrin Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is also in an Environmentally Sensitive Area (ESA).

Sperrins
The Sperrins or Sperrin Mountains are a range of mountains in Northern Ireland and one of the largest upland areas in Ireland. The range stretches the counties of Tyrone and Londonderry from south of Strabane eastwards to Slieve Gallion in Desertmartin and north towards Limavady. The region has a population of some 150,000 and is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

River Moyola
The River Moyola or Moyola River stretches for approximately 27 miles from the Sperrin Mountains to Lough Neagh. The Moyola starts a small river (3-5m) for the first few miles of its length and proceeds to expand to a medium sized river (5-20m) and then to a large river (20m+) for its last couple of miles before Lough Neagh. In ancient times, the River Moyola was known as the 'Bior', and served as the border between the Airgiallan kingdoms of Fir Li and Ui Tuirtri.

Sawel Mountain
Sawel Mountain, historically Slieve Sawel, is a mountain in County Londonderry and County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It is the highest peak in the Sperrin Mountains, and the 8th highest in Northern Ireland. To the north of Sawel is County Londonderry, and to the south, County Tyrone. The summit is 678 metres and is composed of crystalline limestone.
