Bangor Grammar School

Bangor Grammar School (The Grammar or B.G.S. ), is an all-boys, voluntary grammar school situated in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. It was founded in 1856 by the Conservative politician and Bangor man, Col The Hon. Robert Ward PC MP(Eire) who lived at Castle Ward. The school, until June 2011, comprised two parts, Connor House, a preparatory school for pupils aged 4–11 and a secondary school for pupils aged 12–18. Connor House closed at the end of the 2010–11 academic year.

Ward Park

Ward Park is situated in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. The 37 acre park contains 10 tennis courts, a duck pond and a selection of wildfowl housed in breeding pens. On the 1 September 2007, the Northern Irish band Snow Patrol performed a special gig at Ward Park to a crowd of 30,000 people, supported by Ash, We Are Scientists and various other smaller bands. In Summer 2010 Snow Patrol returned to Ward Park, Bangor with an estimated crowd of 40,000 people.

Tonic Cinema

The Tonic Cinema was built in 1936 in Bangor, Northern Ireland. At the time it was the largest Cinema in Ireland with 2,001 seats. It was demolished in 1992 following a fire. The old Compton Theatre Organ, formerly in the Tonic Cinema, is now in the care of Bangor Academy School.

Bangor Old Custom House

The Old Custom House of Bangor is a 17th century tower and adjoining tower house. It is situated on the seafront in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. It is a well preserved reminder of Bangor's seafaring history alongside its modern marina. Originally built as a custom house by James Hamilton, 1st Viscount Claneboye in 1637, the architecture of the tower is unique in Bangor and rare in Ulster.

McKee Clock

The McKee Clock is a clock tower in the town of Bangor, Northern Ireland. Situated at the foot of High Street in the marina's sunken gardens in an area known as the "McKee Clock Arena", the clock is named for its benefactor William McKee, a local rates collector who donated £200 (a very large sum of money at the time) towards its construction. The clock was designed by Mr Bell, the town's surveyor, and built in 1915 by John McNeilly from stone quarried at Ballycullen, near Newtownards.
