Magherafelt District Council

Magherafelt District Council is a district council in County Londonderry in Northern Ireland. Council headquarters are in Magherafelt. The Council area stretches from Lough Neagh and the River Bann in the east and into the Sperrin Mountains in the west and is divided by the Moyola River. It covers an area of 214 square miles and has a current population of over 39,500. Local towns in the area include Bellaghy, birthplace of poet Seamus Heaney in 1939.

Magherafelt GAC

O'Donovan Rossa GAC Magherafelt (Irish: CLG Ó Donnabháin Rosa Machaire Fíolta) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Magherafelt, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. The club is a member of Derry GAA and currently caters for Gaelic football, Camogie and Ladies' Gaelic football. Underage teams play in the South Derry league and championships. The club is named after Irish patriot and revolutionary Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa.

Curran, County Londonderry

Curran (from Irish: an Corrán, meaning "the cresent") is a small village and townland in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 132 people. It is within the Magherafelt District Council area, specifically within the Magherafelt Town District Electoral Area. The village is in the Mid-Ulster constituency for Westminster and Northern Ireland Assembly elections.

Moyola Park Golf Club

Moyola Park Golf Club is an 18-hole championship golf course set in 130 acres (53 hectares) of mature wooded parkland in the Shanemullagh Estate at Castledawson, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It was founded in 1977 by James Chichester-Clark and his wife on family land at Moyola Park. The River Moyola runs through the course. The club has recently completed an extensive development programme.

Castledawson

Castledawson is a village in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It is mostly within the townland of Shanemullagh, about four miles from the north-western shore of Lough Neagh, and close to the market town of Magherafelt. In 2001 it had a population of 2,977 according to the Census.
