Greenhillstairs

Greenhillstairs is the steep B719 road north of Moffat in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The road, about 3 miles long, leaves the A701 Moffat to Edinburgh main road passes over the A74(M) and then joins the B7076 service road running parallel to the motorway. The B719 descends steeply into the Evan Water valley with views across the valley.

Crown of Scotland (hill)

The Crown of Scotland is a hill in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. At a relatively small elevation from the surrounding peaks, it is situated to the north of the Devil's Beef Tub and the town of Moffat. The hill's unusual name derives from the alliance made between Robert the Bruce and James Douglas, Lord of Douglas upon its summit in 1306, following the former's murder of the Red Comyn at Greyfriars kirk in Dumfries, and when Bruce was making for Glasgow to meet with Bishop Wishart.

Croft Head

Croft Head is a hill in the Southern Uplands of Scotland 7 km due east of Moffat. Its summit height above sea level is just 637 metres but it offers unobstructed views to the Solway Firth, the fells and mountains of Cumbria and the Pennines to the south and east. To the north, the major Moffat Hills are close by and to the west, Queensberry, the Lowthers and many of the Galloway Hills can be seen.

Devil's Beef Tub

The Devil's Beef Tub, (Marquis of Annandale's Beef-Tub, Beef-Stand, MacCleran's Loup) is a deep, dramatic hollow in the hills north of the Scottish town of Moffat. The 500-foot (150 m) deep hollow is formed by four hills, Great Hill, Peat Knowe, Annanhead Hill, and Ericstane Hill. It is one of the two main sources of the River Annan.

Annandale Way

The Annandale Way is a 53-mile hiking trail in Scotland. It follows the valley of the River Annan from its source in the Moffat Hills to the sea in the Solway Firth south of the town of Annan. The route, which was established on 12 September 2009, has been designed to be traversable in four to five days as a continuous walk but it also offers several fine day-walks.
