Pencoed College

Pencoed College was founded in 1925 to serve sons and daughters of farmers. Its main building is the old Tregroes House and was originally known as Pencoed College of Agriculture, Horticulture and Environmental Studies. It was locally known as “The Demonstration Farm”. In the 1970s it was renamed the Mid Glamorgan College of Agriculture and Horticulture and became an Associate of the Royal Agricultural Society in 1996 for its contribution to education and training in land-based disciplines.

Pencoed railway station

Pencoed railway station is a minor railway station in Pencoed, Bridgend county borough, south Wales. The station is located at street level at The Square in Pencoed. It is a stop on the South Wales Main Line, served by trains on the Maesteg Line, and occasionally by the Swanline Cardiff to Swansea regional services. All trains are operated by Arriva Trains Wales.

A473 road

The A473 is a main road linking Pontypridd with Bridgend in Wales. The route begins in Upper Boat just south of Pontypridd, at the junction with the A470 and A4054 roads. It crosses the bridge in an easterly direction and continues along the road until it reaches the hill known locally as Power Station hill until it reaches a roundabout near the village of Tonteg after which it heads in a south westerly direction.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service

The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service (Welsh: Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub De Cymru) is the fire and rescue service covering the ten Welsh principal areas of Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Torfaen and Vale of Glamorgan. The SWFRS was created in 1996 by the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994 which reformed Welsh local government.
