Carn Fadryn

Garn Fadryn is a five-hectare Iron Age hill fort and is the name of the hill on which the fort is situated. It lies in the centre of the Llŷn Peninsula, Gwynedd, and overlooks Garnfadryn village in Wales (United Kingdom). There seems to be two phases of ancient hillfort building on Garn Fadryn, followed by a medieval fortification of the summit. The first period of fortification at Garn Fadryn dates from about 300 BC, when the summit and an area of some 12 acres were enclosed.

RAF Hell's Mouth

RAF Hell's Mouth was a World War II Royal Air Force grass airfield at Hell's Mouth, (Porth Neigwl) on the Llŷn Peninsula near Abersoch, Gwynedd. RAF Hell's Mouth was commissioned in February 1937 as a Relief Landing Ground, later an Emergency landing Ground for RAF Penrhos. It was also an air gunnery and bombing range, with targets on the land, floated 1 mile offshore and towed drogues in the air. A small range railway was in use to provide moving targets.

Cors Geirch National Nature Reserve

Cors Geirch National Nature Reserve is an extensive wetland site situated on the Llŷn Peninsula, in the central part of the valley that runs between Nefyn and Pwllheli in Wales. It is maintained by the Natural Resources Wales. In spring, the woodland on the slopes above the bog is transformed by a spectacular cover of primroses, wood anemone and bluebells. The huge variety of insects found here includes the rare marsh fritillary butterfly and many kinds of dragonfly and damselfly.

Mynydd Tir y Cwmwd

Mynydd Tir y Cwmwd (The Headland) is an area of about 175 acres (708,000 m²) in north Wales to the south of the village of Llanbedrog. From the top of the Headland, with a covering of gorse and heather, there are fine views towards Abersoch and Pwllheli as well as over Cardigan Bay. The whole area is privately owned common land and is zigzagged by many paths. Great care must be taken on the slope where numerous accidents have occurred.

RAF Penrhos

RAF Penrhos was a World War II Royal Air Force airfield at Penrhos, on the Llŷn Peninsula near Pwllheli, Gwynedd. It was operational from 1 February 1937 to 21 October 1946 for armarment training, air observer, bombing and gunnery schools.
