Burro Schmidt Tunnel
The Burro Schmidt Tunnel, located in Kern County, California near Garlock, is a half-mile long (0.8 km) tunnel dug entirely by hand, constructed over a 32-year period by William "Burro" H. Schmidt (1871–1954). The tunnel is near the summit of a 4,400 foot (1,340 m) mountain in the El Paso Mountains of eastern California.

Cache Creek is a dry wash which carries flash floods from Tehachapi, California, USA into the Mojave desert during infrequent rains. A small settlement located where the dry wash enters the desert is also known as Cache Creek. Honda Proving Center of California
Honda Proving Center of California (HPCC) is a test track established in 1990, and used primarily for testing Honda and Acura automobiles. Motorcycles are also tested there. HPCC is located near Cantil, California, in Kern County. Security is tight, and pilots flying near the track have reported seeing cars immediately heading for cover as they got close to the facility. HPCC has a 7.5 mile oval track, as well as a five-mile winding road course.
