General George S. Patton Memorial Museum

The General George S. Patton Memorial Museum, in Chiriaco Summit, California, is a museum erected in tribute to General George S. Patton on the site of the entrance of Camp Young, part of the Desert Training Center of World War II. Exhibits include a large collection of tanks used in World War II and the Korean War, as well as memorabilia from Patton's life and career – especially in regards to his service at the Desert Training Center – and from soldiers who trained there.

Desert Training Center

The Desert Training Center (DTC) was a World War II training facility established in the Mojave Desert; largely in Southern California and Western Arizona in 1942. Its mission was to train United States Army and Army Air Corps units and personnel to live and fight in the desert, to test and develop suitable equipment, and to develop tactical doctrines, techniques and training methods. It was a key training facility for units engaged in combat during the 1942–1943 North African campaign.

Chiriaco Summit Airport

Chiriaco Summit Airport is a county-owned public-use airport located one nautical mile (1.85 km) northeast of the central business district of Chiriaco Summit, in Riverside County, California, United States. The airport is maintained as a functioning airport for emergency purposes and recreational VFR use by the Riverside County government. Some west coast aero clubs use the airport (and nearby restaurant) as a "destination" site for annual week-end competitions.

Ruby Lee Mill Site

Ruby Lee Mill Site is located in the Hexie Mountains, in the Mojave Desert. The site is within Joshua Tree National Park, in Riverside County, California. The Ruby Lee Mill was established in 1935. A stamp mill is used to crush ore in order to extract minerals. This mill was probably used to extract gold and silver. There are a number of mines in the vicinity, the nearest one being roughly 50 feet away. Water is needed in the milling process, and there is a nearby well, which is now dry.
