Kern Lake (Kern County)

Kern Lake, originally Laguna de los Tulares, was the smallest of the three large lakes in the Tulare Basin, in the southwestern San Joaquin Valley of California. It was the first of the lakes fed by the Kern River. Kern Lake is now a dry lake bed, due to agricultural diversion of the Kern River waters and the aquifer.

Bakersfield Sports Village

Bakersfield Sports Village is a 170-acre tournament style sporting complex located in Bakersfield, California. Phase 1 (which was completed in 2011) contains 8 soccer fields. When fully constructed, it will have 16 soccer fields, 10 baseball fields, 4 football fields, and an indoor gymnasium. There will also be a large stadium which can be configured for either soccer or football. Surrounding facilities will include recreational park with a large lake, and two retail shopping areas.

Buena Vista Canal

Buena Vista Canal is an irrigation canal in Kern County, California. It originates from the Carrier Canal at Coffee Road. The canal terminates at Lake Webb (and Buena Vista Lakebed) and the Kern River. From the diversion, the canal travels southwest (although it is routed around California State University, Bakersfield). Just east of Enos Lane, part of the canal joins with the Kern River. A second branch travels south to Lake Evans (Buena Vista Lakebed), where it terminates.
