Frances E. Barnard Memorial Observatory
The Frances E. Barnard Memorial Observatory (also known as the La Sierra University Observatory) is located in Riverside, California at the base of Mount Two-Bit. The observatory was named for Frances Evelyn Barnard, mother of Marion Cecil Barnard who donated the money necessary to build the observatory and purchase two telescopes (one of which is currently mounted to the concrete pier inside the building).
