Rancho Temescal (Serrano)

Rancho Temescal was a Mexican land grant in present day Riverside County, California given by Governor José María de Echeandía to Leandro Serrano. The grant extended along the Temescal Valley south of present day Corona and encompassed El Cerrito and Lee Lake. At the time of the grant claim, Rancho Temescal was a part of San Bernardino County. Riverside County was created by the California Legislature in 1893 by taking land from both San Bernardino and San Diego County.

California's 44th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California that from 2003 to 2013 covered an area of Southern California from San Clemente in Orange County on the coast, north-by-northeast inland to Riverside County, including the cities of Corona, Norco, Rubidoux, and Riverside. The district is currently represented by Democrat Janice Hahn. The district is now centered in South Los Angeles and includes the communities of Carson, Compton, and San Pedro.

Lake Mathews

Lake Mathews is a large reservoir in Riverside County, California, located in the Cajalco Valley in the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains. It is the western terminus for the Colorado River Aqueduct that provides much of the water used by the cities and water districts of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. The reservoir is fenced and closed to all public access.
