Lomita Railroad Museum

The Lomita Railroad Museum is a museum in Lomita, California devoted to California railroad history during the steam era. It was founded by Irene Lewis in the early 1960s on a single lot in the middle of a residential part of Lomita, and opened in 1966. The museum building is a replica of a 19th century depot that once stood in Wakefield, Massachusetts, and there is a full size replica of a water tower. The museum grounds now function as a small public park.

Torrance High School

Torrance High School is a high school located in Torrance, California. Founded in 1917, it is one of the oldest high schools in continuous use in California and is the oldest of the four high schools in the Torrance Unified School District. Four of its buildings are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Torrance High School is a popular filming location for television and motion picture production.

Madrona Marsh

The Madrona Marsh Preserve, located in Torrance, California, is the last vernal marsh remaining in the South Bay area of Los Angeles and one of few wetlands located within an urban landscape. Formed eons ago when the mountains of the Palos Verdes Peninsula rose to the south, Madrona Marsh is a shallow depression fed by wet season (spring) storms as the name "vernal" indicates.
