Mosquito Pass

Mosquito Pass (el. 13,185 ft. ) is a high mountain pass in the Mosquito Range of central Colorado in the United States. The pass lies on the boundary between Lake and Park counties between Leadville (west) and Fairplay (east). One of the highest passes in the state, it is traversable only on foot or with a proper four-wheel drive vehicle. 2WD vehicles will find it difficult due to the stream crossings and high rocky sections. It is typically passable only during summer months.

Climax, Colorado

Climax was an unincorporated mining village and a former U.S. Post Office located in Lake County, Colorado. Climax is known for its large molybdenum ore deposit. The former Climax Post Office had the ZIP Code 80429. Climax is located along the Continental Divide at an elevation of about 11,360 feet (3465 meters). It was the highest human settlement in the United States, and it holds the record for having had the country'second highest Post Office and the highest railroad station.
