The Milford Metro-North Railroad station serves the residents of Milford, Connecticut via the New Haven Line. Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall is a private, Roman Catholic, all-girls high school in Milford, Connecticut, United States. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hartford. Lauralton Hall was established in 1905 by the Sisters of Mercy. It is the oldest Catholic college-preparatory school for girls in Connecticut. In 2011 it was added to the Historic Register of Historic Places by the Connecticut Historic Preservation Council.

Charles Island is accessible from shore via a tombolo (locally referred to as a sandbar), which is exposed at low tide.
