Tolland County, Connecticut

Tolland County is a county located in the northeastern part of Connecticut. As of 2010, the population was 152,691. Tolland County is incorporated into thirteen towns and was originally formed on 13 October 1785 from portions of eastern Hartford County, Connecticut and western Windham County, Connecticut. Counties in Connecticut have no governmental function: all legal power is vested in the state, city, and town governments.

WHUS

WHUS is the commercial-free college radio station of the University of Connecticut. It is one of the oldest radio stations in Connecticut, with roots going back to just after World War I. It is a community radio station, featuring members of the student body and the local community around Storrs, Connecticut. The community radio format allows WHUS to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at 91.7MHz on the FM dial.

Hugh S. Greer Field House

Hugh S. Greer Field House was a 4,604 seat multi-purpose arena in Storrs, Connecticut. It opened December 1, 1954 with a win against then-archrival URI. It was home to the University of Connecticut Huskies men's and women's basketball teams until January 27, 1990, when the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion opened. The arena is named after former Husky basketball player, coach and athletic director, Hugh Greer.

Storrs is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Mansfield within eastern Tolland County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 10,996 at the 2000 census. It is dominated economically and demographically by the presence of the main campus of the University of Connecticut and the associated Connecticut Repertory Theatre.
