Rich Knob

Rich Knob, elevation 4,132 feet, is located in Towns County, Georgia. It is part of the Georgia portion of the Southern Nantahala Wilderness and is within the boundaries of the Tallulah Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest. The mountain lies along the Appalachian Trail, which crosses over its eastern flank in Rabun County as it enters North Carolina.

Double Spring Knob

Double Spring Knob, with an elevation of 4,280 feet, is tied with Coosa Bald as the tenth-highest peak in Georgia, USA. It is located in two Georgia counties - Rabun and Towns. It is located within the boundaries of the Chattahoochee National Forest. The Appalachian Trail passes below the knob to the east. This mountain is also known as Kelly Knob.

Southern Nantahala Wilderness

The Southern Nantahala Wilderness was designated in 1984 and currently consists of 23,473 acres . Approximately 11,770 acres are located in Georgia in the Chattahoochee National Forest and approximately 11,703 acres are located in North Carolina in the Nantahala National Forest. The Wilderness is managed by the United States Forest Service and is part of the National Wilderness Preservation System.

Coleman River Scenic Area

The Coleman River Scenic Area is located in Rabun County, Georgia in the Chattooga River District of the Chattahoochee National Forest. It is located at the point of confluence of Coleman River with the Tallulah River. The scenic area consists of 330 acres encompassing lower Coleman River and was dedicated in 1960 to "Ranger Nick" Nicholson following his 40 years of public service. At the point of confluence of the two rivers, the elevation is approximately 2,200 feet .

Macedonia is an unincorporated community along Georgia Highway 20 in eastern Cherokee County, Georgia, United States approximately 6 miles east of the county seat, Canton, Georgia. The center of Macedonia is approximately 45 miles north of Atlanta via I-75/I-575, or 35 miles via GA 400. Straight-line distance indicates mileage of 31 miles from the center of downtown Atlanta.
