Slaughters, Kentucky

Slaughters is a city in Webster County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 238 at the 2000 census. Slaughters lies just west of US 41 and 9⁄2 miles east of Dixon. According to local tradition, it was named for Augustus G. Slaughter who won the right to name the town and post office after winning a game of cards. The post office was established as Slaughtersville on January 29, 1856, with Henry A. Prater, postmaster.

Sebree, Kentucky

Sebree is a city in Webster County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 1,558 at the 2000 census. In 1868, a town was founded by William Scott and Colonel E. G. Sebree of Trenton, Kentucky. The L & N Railroad was begun in 1850 but was not completed until after the American Civil War. The railroad divided the town nearly in half. On the eastern side was the depot which was furnished with both a day and night operator. Telephone service was added to the town in 1895.

Hanson, Kentucky

Hanson is a city in Hopkins County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 625 at the 2000 census. It is named for Henry B. Hanson, a civil engineer and surveyor who plotted the town for the Henderson and Nashville Railroad. CSX Transportation runs through Hanson and operates a siding track there named after the town. The companies that supply power to Hanson residents are Kentucky Utilities and Kenergy. The Hanson Historic District is located in the city.

WAZE-TV was a television station in Madisonville, Kentucky, in the United States, serving the Evansville, Indiana DMA. The station, which was owned by Roberts Broadcasting (who bought it from previous owner South Central Communications in 2006), was an affiliate of the CW Television Network. It broadcast a digital signal on channel 20 from a transmitter at Hanson, Kentucky; which redirected to former analog channel 19 via PSIP.
