Bullitt County, Kentucky

Bullitt County, founded in December 1796, is a county in the U.S. state of Kentucky located in the far western Bluegrass region known as the Knobs, with an area of 300 square miles . The population was 74,319 in the 2010 Census. Just south of the city of Louisville, part of the Louisville metropolitan area commonly known as Kentuckiana, the county is home to several commuter towns including the cities of Hillview, Lebanon Junction, Mount Washington and Shepherdsville - the county seat.

Coxs Creek, Kentucky

Coxs Creek is an unincorporated community along U.S. Routes 31E/150 (known locally as Louisville Road) in Nelson County, Kentucky, United States, 4½ miles north of the county seat of Bardstown. It is named for Colonel Isaac Cox of Pennsylvania, who built a "fort" (actually an "old time block house") at the site in April 1775 before he fought in the American Revolutionary War, with the help of his brother James Cox.

Shepherdsville train wreck

The Shepherdsville train wreck was a fatal railway accident that occurred on December 20, 1917 in Shepherdsville, Kentucky on the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, which killed 49 people (some sources say 51), and left a similar number seriously injured. It is the worst and deadliest train wreck of Kentucky's history.
