Evergreen is a town in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 314 at the 2000 census. Evergreen is located east of Bunkie. The Western singer, songwriter, and actor Rudy Robbins was born in Evergreen in 1933. Also, Lionel Aldridge (February 14, 1941 – February 12, 1998) who played American football professionally as a defensive end in the National Football League on the historic Green Bay Packers teams of the sixties.

Avoyelles Correctional Center is a state prison of Louisiana, operated by the Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections. It is located in unincorporated Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana, near Cottonport and about 30 miles south of Alexandria. In 1989 Frank Polozola, the U.S. district judge in the state, approved a plan for the state to send over 600 state prisoners who were incarcerated in parish jails to state prisons.
