Jean Klock Park

Jean Klock Park is an historic city park along Lake Michigan in Benton Harbor, Michigan, United States. In 1917, J. N. Klock and his wife Carrie bought a significant stretch of lakeshore including tall dunes and 2,950 feet of shoreline from E. K. Warren, donor of Warren Dunes, and deeded the land to the city of Benton Harbor. They gave the land in memory of their daughter, Jean, who died in early childhood.

Benton Harbor, Michigan

Benton Harbor is a city in Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan which is located west of Kalamazoo, and northwest of South Bend, Indiana. In 2010, the population was 10,038 according the census. It is the smaller, by population, of the two principal cities in the Niles-Benton Harbor, Michigan Metropolitan Statistical Area, an area with 156,813 people. Benton Harbor and the City of St. Joseph are separated by the St. Joseph River and are known locally as the "Twin Cities".

Benton Harbor Public Library

The Benton Harbor Public Library (BHPL) is a public library located in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The BHPL service area consists of the City of Benton Harbor and Benton Charter Township, Michigan. The library has an extensive reference department; a book collection of approximately 100,000 books; an auditorium for group activities; free notary public service; and offers free wireless internet access via WiFi hotspot. BHPL is a member of the Southwestern Michigan Library Cooperative.

Fort Miami (Michigan)

Fort Miami was a fort on the bank of the St. Joseph River at the site of the present-day city of St. Joseph, Michigan, in the United States. It was established in November 1679 by a band of French explorers led by René Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle on the banks of what was then called the River Miami as a mission and Indian trading outpost. His soldiers destroyed it the next year.
