WTAC, owned by Superior Communications, began broadcasting in 2002 on 89.7 with 1 kW. Officially licensed to Burton, Michigan, the station's transmitter was located in the Beecher area on the north side of Flint, Michigan until September 2011 when it moved south of Fenton, Michigan and increased its power to 15 kW. The Shiawassee River Heritage Water Trail is a 7 miles water trail in the Shiawassee River from Holly, Michigan toward Fenton, Michigan. The trail continues to be extended every year as local governments take an active role in protecting natural infrastructure such as rivers and streams.
