Monticello Raceway

Monticello Gaming and Raceway is a harness racing track, and home to a relatively new racino, in Monticello, Sullivan County, New York. It is off Exit 104 of Route 17, on New York State Route 17B. The racetrack is nicknamed "The Mighty M" and races standardbred horse races during the afternoons year round. The current racetrack is an 1/2 mile oval. The track opened on June 27, 1958, in order to serve as a stimulant to attract more people to Monticello's resort area.

Sullivan County International Airport

Sullivan County International Airport is a public airport located in the town of Bethel, six miles (10 km) northwest of the central business district of the village of Monticello, in Sullivan County, New York, United States. It is owned by the Sullivan County Division of Public Works. Originally built in the 1960s, the airport is now a Part 139 certified airport capable of handling small general aviation aircraft as well as larger business jets.

Sackett Lake

Sackett Lake refers to both a lake in Thompson, New York and the small community that revolves around the lake. It is approximately 4 miles from Monticello, the county seat of Sullivan County. It includes Fireman's Camp - for use by the volunteer firefighters in the area, Beaver Dam, Winston Day Camp, and a JCC. During the height of the "Borscht Belt" in the catskills, The Laurels Hotel and Country Club occupied the northern section of Sackett Lake.

Monticello, New York

Monticello is a village located in the Town of Thompson in Sullivan County, New York, United States. The population was 6,726 at the 2010 census. It is the seat for the Town of Thompson and the county seat of Sullivan County. The village was named after the residence of Thomas Jefferson, but is pronounced locally as "mon-tah-sell-oh. " The Village of Monticello is in the central part of Thompson, adjacent to New York Route 17. Monticello is one of the largest villages in the county.
