Southern High School (Durham, North Carolina)

Southern High School is located in Durham, North Carolina, USA. Southern is part of Durham Public Schools. Southern has prominent football, baseball, and basketball programs as well as the Symphonic Soul of the South Marching Band. There are currently 1574 students. Southern is academically one of the worst-performing schools in Durham; the state has threatened to close the school on account of its test scores, which are below 55%. Southern has recently been going through a teacher shortage.

Cannady-Brogden Farm

The Cannady-Brogden Farm is a historic home and farm located near Creedmoor, North Carolina. Built in 1904, the house is an example of a Queen Anne triple-A-roofed I-shaped building. In addition to the house, other structures on the farm include: corn crib, woodshed, washhouse, covered well, chicken coop, smokehouse, stackhouse, packhouse, machinery shed, mule barn, cow shed, and tobacco barn. In April 2001, the Cannady-Brogden Farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
