Fossil Cycad National Monument

Fossil Cycad National Monument was a national monument in the U.S. state of South Dakota beginning in 1922. The site contained hundreds of fossil cycads, one of the world's greatest concentrations. Because vandals stole or destroyed all of the visible fossils, it was withdrawn as a national monument in 1957. It is located in northwestern Fall River County, on U.S. Route 18, northeast of the city of Edgemont.

Cottonwood Springs Dam

Cottonwood Springs Dam is a dam in Fall River County, South Dakota in the southwestern part of the state, south of the Black Hills. The earthen dam was constructed in 1969 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers with a height of 123 feet and a length at its crest of 1190 feet. It impounds Cottonwood Springs Creek for flood control. The dam is owned and operated by the Corps of Engineers.

Cold Brook Dam

Cold Brook Dam is a dam in Fall River County, South Dakota in the southwestern part of the state, south of the Black Hills. The earthen dam was constructed in 1953 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers with a height of 127 feet and a length at its crest of 925 feet. It impounds Cold Brook Creek for flood control. The dam is owned and operated by the Corps of Engineers. The reservoir it creates, Cold Brook Lake, has a water surface of 36 acres and has a maximum capacity of 7200 acre-feet.

Hot Springs is a city in Fall River County, South Dakota, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 3,711. It is the county seat of Fall River County. In addition, neighboring Shannon County contracts the duties of Auditor, Treasurer and Register of Deeds to the Fall River County authority in Hot Springs. Hot Springs is one of the warmest places in South Dakota with an annual mean temperature of 48.6 °F .
