Nederland, Texas

Nederland is a city in Jefferson County, Texas, United States. The population was 17,547 at the 2010 census. The city is adjacent to the Jack Brooks Regional Airport in Port Arthur, which serves the nearby cities of Beaumont and Port Arthur. It is part of the Beaumont–Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area. Nederland is also a part of an area known as "the Golden Triangle," which comprises Beaumont, Port Arthur, and Orange.

Beaumont Reserve Fleet

The Beaumont Reserve Fleet is maintained in Beaumont, Texas as part of the National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF), maintained by the Maritime Administration (MARAD), an agency of the Department of Transportation (DOT). It is one of the three remaining (originally eight) locations where mothballed ships are laid up for potential re-use. The location is on the Neches River which connects to the Gulf of Mexico.

American Queen

American Queen is said to be the largest river steamboat ever built. The ship was built in 1995 and is a six-deck recreation of a classic Mississippi riverboat, built by McDermott Shipyard for the Delta Queen Steamboat Company.

Jack Brooks Regional Airport

Jack Brooks Regional Airport, formerly Southeast Texas Regional Airport, is a public airport located near Port Arthur, Texas, United States, nine miles (14 km) southeast of the central business district of Beaumont and northeast of Port Arthur. It was also formerly known as the Jefferson County Airport, but its name was changed; first in an attempt to promote its use, and again to honor former U.S. Representative Jack Brooks (D - Beaumont).
