Glendale, Texas

Glendale, also known as Bissell, is a town 11 miles from Groveton on Highway 94 in Trinity County, Texas. In 1886, the population grew to 100. The next year, the town had a post office under the name Bissell. During the 1890's Settlers from Illinois and Missouri remamed the town to Glendale. The town exploded after a peach farm was established there, and by 1899, over 1200 residents lived in Glendale. A hotel, several churches, a school, and even a newspaper was there by 1898.

White Rock, Texas

White Rock, also known as Skains or Skains Chapel, is a rural town in Trinity County, Texas, about 15 miles from Groveton. A church/school combination was built around the Civil War era. In the 1880s the town name was changed to White Rock. By the 1990s only a few houses and a cemetery remained.

Thompson, Texas
