Forest Heights, Texas

Forest Heights is an unincorporated community in Orange County, Texas, United States. It is located immediately east of State Highway 87 in northeastern Orange County, approximately five miles north of Little Cypress and eight miles north of Orange. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had an estimated population of 250 in 2000. Forest Heights is part of the Beaumont–Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Starks, Louisiana

Starks is an unincorporated area in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, United States located approximately 30 miles north west of Lake Charles about 6 miles from the Texas/Louisiana border. Starks is well known for its annual Mayhaw Festival to celebrate the fruit that grows in the bayous along the Texas/Louisiana border.

Little Cypress, Texas

Little Cypress is a large community in the northern area of Orange, Texas. It is part of the Beaumont–Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area. The settlement was probably named for nearby Little Cypress Bayou and began sometime after the Civil War when the first school was built. The first census figures for Little Cypress were available in 1990, when the town reported 1,050 residents. The area is not an official town, nor has it ever been, but is a part of the city of Orange, Texas.
