New Braunfels High School (commonly referred to as NBHS) is a public, co-educational secondary school in New Braunfels, Texas that was established in 1845. Up until 2008, New Braunfels was one of the largest, 4A, high schools in Texas. In the Spring of 2008, bi-annual University Interscholastic League (UIL) enrollment re-alignment reclassified New Braunfels as a 5A school and moved it to District 26-5A. Gruene and is located in the historical town of Gruene, Texas (now a part of New Braunfels), and bills itself as "the oldest continually run dance hall in Texas. " Gruene Hall has hosted such acts as Willie Nelson, George Strait, Townes Van Zandt, Jerry Jeff Walker, Lyle Lovett, Hal Ketchum, Gregg Allman and many more. Gruene, New Braunfels, Texas
Gruene is a former town in Comal County in the U.S. state of Texas. Once a significant cotton-producing community along the Guadalupe River, the economy is now supported primarily by tourism. Gruene is now a district within the city limits of New Braunfels, and much of it was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on April 21, 1975. It is part of the San Antonio-New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area.
