Mesquite High School (Mesquite, Texas)

Mesquite High School is a high school in Mesquite, Texas. MHS serves Mesquite and a small portion of Balch Springs for the grades 9 through 12 and is a part of the Mesquite Independent School District. Total enrollment for the school as of October 2011 was 2,804 and therefore places it in the UIL 5A division. "Stormy the Skeeter" is the school mascot for the school's various athletic teams (all known with some variant of the word "Skeeter") and the school's colors are Maroon and White.

Mesquite is a city located within the Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas. Most of the city is located in Dallas County with a smaller portion in the east overlapping into Kaufman County. As of the 2010 census, the population was 139,824 making it the eighteenth most populous city in the state of Texas.

Lake Ray Hubbard

Lake Ray Hubbard, formerly Forney Lake, is a fresh water impoundment located in Dallas, Texas in the counties of Dallas, Kaufman, Collin, and Rockwall just north of the City of Forney. It was created by the construction of the Rockwall-Forney Dam which impounded the East Fork Trinity River. It measures 22,745 acres (92 km²) in size with a storage capacity of 490,000 acre feet and a maximum depth of 40 feet (12 m). The dam is currently owned by the City of Dallas. Interstate 30 bisects the lake.

North Mesquite High School

North Mesquite High School is a secondary school in Mesquite, Texas. As of 2013, the school serves northern portions of Mesquite and the MISD portion of Garland. Formerly, North Mesquite served all of Sunnyvale before the completion of Sunnyvale High School, leaving the class of 2010 the last North Mesquite class catering to Sunnyvale students. North Mesquite, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Mesquite Independent School District.
