Goodfellow Air Force Base
Goodfellow Air Force Base is a non-flying United States Air Force base located in San Angelo, Texas. As part of Air Education & Training Command (AETC), Goodfellow's main mission is cryptologic and intelligence training for the Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps. Military firefighters are also trained here as part of the 312th Training Squadron. It is the home of the 17th Training Wing (17 TRW). The base is named for World War I aviator First Lieutenant John J. Goodfellow, Jr.

KIXY-FM is a radio station that serves the San Angelo, Texas area with a Top 40 (CHR) format. The station is owned by Foster Communications. The station went on air January 1, 1967 . 94.7 FM joined 1260 AM (which signed on in 1954). 94.7 was a simulcast by day of 1260 and continued the AM format by nights. Call letters were variously KWFR and KIXY. KWFR stood for "Walton Foster Radio". The FM antenna has always been colocated with 1260 near 27th and Volney.
